As Myself
I’ve been living with my husband for the past four and a half years. I’ve graduated with my BFA in Graphic Design. I am an artist by trade, so I do love Art and the creation of thus, but I also love the outdoors, and I enjoy video games. I was the founder of GGU (Girl Gamers United) on MySpace, which now has over 6,000 members. Although I have to say I am not a big myspace fan. Favorite Games: Final Fantasy, Neverwinter Nights, Guild Wars, Katamari Damacy, Animal Crossing, Worms, Quake 4… and many more! The last couple of years I’ve been doing alot of research on health and wellness.
Personal Quote:
“When life gives you lemons,
make lemonade.
When you want lemonade,
get your own damn lemons!”
As a Designer
I’ve self taught myself web programming at a very young age. As an Artist/Illustrator with a love for computers and technology, graphic design seemed so obvious in the end. I’d love to stay with both print and web design. I would be just as happy doing ‘just print’ or ‘just web’ as well.
I consider myself out going , flexible, eclectic in taste, and can mold myself to whatever situation I need. I love taking the initative on new ideas or projects.
Projects I enjoy most
I love to think, and brainstorm. Any project that needs mental input and I am completely there. Any type of campaign where you need to tie things together is always stimulating.
I as much as I dreaded it in school, I’ve found I love publication design. Its a lot of fun to take a brochure, catalog, or even news letter and give it a creative twist!
Micro sites and email blasts are something I’ve found to be a lot of fun, and have a lot of potential for any size business. It’s cheap, effective, and can be a very fun, quick creative outlet. I’ve done tons of them, and usually on a tight turnaround.
What is Genetically Designed?
Its the name of the domain. The literal meaning of genetically designed is what scientist refer to genetically altered/designed/ plants. Lots of the corn we eat are genetically inhanced to repel BUGS that eat the corn—also those little watermellons with no seeds–Genetically Designed. But taking this concept into a graphic design terms, its more of a personal thing. Like, I am a ball of genetics, and I design, so my designs would be genetically designed. Or maybe its that I am genetically designed due to eating the past said fruits and vegetables, which I am now trying to keep out of my diet? Or maybe thats thinking too much…I believe several years ago when I thought up the name for my domain, I just thought it was a nice play on words, not to mention it shares GD; Genetically Designed, Graphic Design.
